Training

First Aid

RIFAA continues to provide specific first aid training to the rail industry. This takes into account the unique challenges that are present from tractions supplies through to trackside conditions. Our training incorporates both the statutory and railway group standards requirements and can be provided as one of the following formats:
- Emergency First Aid (for electrical accidents)
- Emergency First Aid (for appointed persons)
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- First Aid at Work (initial)
- First Aid at Work (refresher)
- Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)

FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS & FIRE MARSHALL

The candidate will be trained in their responsibilities under the current fire precautions legislation. This will be underpinned by providing an understanding of topics from causes of fire through understanding warning signage and aids to escape such situations.

Manual Handling

Our approach in designing this course is to respond to those working in the rail industry who not only have to move single objects but also unstable or moving items. Our objective is to ensure that each delegate fully understands the techniques that will enable them to ensure theirs and others safety in what can be, very demanding environments.

Community

RIFAA is committed to continuing its long established objectives, promoting all forms of first aid provision within the rail industry. One of these is the supporting of volunteer classes which exist around the country, as well as the provision of free "save a life" community first aid courses to rail staff and their families
