Rail Industry First Aid Association - Serving industry, caring for people

Training >> First Aid At Work

(course duration: four days)

The course has been developed to meet the requirements set out in the Approved Code of Practice and Guidance: First aid at work. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 L74. This standard is maintained through close liaison with the Health and Safety Executive, industry representatives and voluntary aid organisations.

Based on both clinical studies and real life experience, the standards for best practice in first aid change from time to time as our knowledge increases. Courses run by Rifaa Ltd will always be to the most up to date standards.

This four day course is led by our experienced trainers, all of whom have extensive practical experience of providing first aid in an industrial setting.

Each delegate is provided with a current first aid manual for use during the course and which acts as a source of revision material during the period of competence. To facilitate learning, delegates experience the latest teaching methods, encompassing syndicate work, video-based exercises, and simulations.

During the course the delegates will be expected to demonstrate competence in Incident and Casualty Management and experience a wide range of realistic scenarios based on actual incidents.

Competency is for a three year period, each successful delegate receiving a wallet-sized certificate and an A4 certificate.
