Training >> Emergency Aid For Appointed Persons

(course duration: four or six hours)

The core element is a four hour module covering all aspects of the Appointed Person role including the basics of:
  • Incident Management
  • Casualty Assessment
  • Management of Unconscious Casualty
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Because this course is included by many companies as part of Personal Track Safety training for those persons required to work on or about the running line, RIFAA Ltd include as a standard
  • Rescue of casualties from A.C. Overhead Line Equipment and D.C. Third Rail Electrified Lines
As there is an increasing need to prove competence, an extended Appointed Person course has now been approved which requires delegates to demonstrate competence by formal assessment in basic incident management and CPR to nationally approved standards in the six hour course. Please contact us about other courses.

Both the four and the six hour course meet all the Network Rail (first aid and emergency rescue) prerequisites for PTS and substation access qualifications.

Alternatively, the 4 hour module can be extended to include other aspects of first aid or other skills such as:
  • Manual Handling
  • Casualty Handling
  • COSHH Awareness
